Multi Skilled Engineer, Morning, Afternoon & Night Shift, Mountain Ash, £25,000 - £27,000
Summary
We are currently recruiting a Multi Skilled Engineer for a manufacturing company based in Mountain Ash, South Wales. The role has arisen due to steady expansion. The Multi Skilled Engineer will be working a rotating shift pattern of mornings (7-3), afternoons (3-11) and nights (11-7).
The Role
You will ensure that the machinery and equipment runs effectively and efficiently and provide engineering support to all production equipment. You will also work towards continuous improvement.
Duties
- Trouble shooting, maintenance and setting of high speed production equipment
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance of machinery
- Checking and Calibrating instruments to ensure accuracy
- Carrying out various projects as required
- Filling in daily log books to record faults
- Consistently striving for Continuous Improvement
- Maintaining stock control procedure on consumables & machine parts
- Communicating with internal departments over engineering activity and progress
- Adhering to health & safety processes
- Training and mentoring of apprentices
- Carrying out building maintenance as required
- Basic fault finding on FLT
- New Line/Machine Installation
Qualifications / Experience
- Knowledge of PLC electrical control systems
- An awareness of health and safety legislation
- Knowledge of high speed production equipment, pneumatic controls and circuitry
- Technical Problem Solving & Fault finding
- Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- General Engineering ability
- Prioritising
- Time Served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with a bias on Mechanics
- Knowledge of over wrapping machines
- Experience of maintenance & repair of high speed production equipment
- Ability to work unsupervised
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
- Knowledge of Vertical Form Fill Seal Machines (VFFS)
- Knowledge of Multi-head Weigh Systems
- Experienced in the use of IT Microsoft Packages
- Recognised academic qualification
- Working on Packing & Packaging Machines
- Welding & Fabricating
- FLT
- Worked in a Supervisory Role
- Machine Shop Practices : Lathe Work, Milling
- Experience of Working in a Clean Room Environment
